Hidiv Kasrı was commissioned in 1907 by Abbas Hilmi Pasha, Khedive of Egypt, to the Italian architect Delfo Seminati on the Çubuklu ridges in Istanbul’s Beykoz district. It is in the art nouveau style, in keeping with the architectural fashion of the period.

Hidiv Kasrı, which has one of Istanbul’s first steam-powered elevators and was built on an area of 1.000 square meters, has a marble fountain in the middle of its main entrance.

The two large bedrooms in the building, whose ceiling is covered with stained glass, draw attention with their wainscoting, toilets and bathrooms. In addition to the fireplace hall on the entrance floor, another feature of the building is its tower overlooking the Bosphorus.
