Adalar Museum, which was brought to life within the scope of the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency projects through the joint work of the Adalar Foundation, Adalar Municipality and the Adalar District Governorship, became fully operational on 10 September 2010. Istanbul’s first contemporary city museum approach offers a different experience for visitors with its content, presentation, spaces, layout and activities. Visitors are welcomed by an introductory animation prepared as a result of studies carried out on various maps and space photographs of the 9 Istanbul Islands, and it provides basic urban information about Adalar. The replica of the Dunkleosteus armored fish, whose fossilized traces were found in the island rocks and which is known to have lived in these seas 400 million years ago, is also located right in front of you.
The Museum Gives the Message Let Us Protect Nature
