Tarihî geçmişe sahip olan yarımadanın eski adı Balyanoz’dur. Kuzeye bakan koyu da Balyanoz Limanı olarak bilinir.
Marmara Denizi’ne uzanan küçük bir yarımada olan Bayramoğlu Yarımadası, 1950’lerin sonunda yerleşime açılmıştır. Yarımada olmasına karşılık halkın söylemiyle "ada" olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Eski haritalarda ise adı Üçburunlar Yarımadası olarak geçmektedir.
Bayramoğlu Yarımadası’nda iklimin değiştiği daha ilk adımdan itibaren hissedilmektedir. Sokakları, Londra çınarlarının daha fidan halindeyken, iplerle karşılıklı birbirlerine bağlanarak eğim verdirilmesi ile ağaçtan tünellere dönüştürülmüştür. Yaz aylarında sıcaktan bunalmadan yollarında yürünebilen yarımadanın cadde ve sokak isimlerinin kuş, çiçek ve meyve isimleri olması da adaya ayrı bir hoşluk katmaktadır.
