Mayor Sinagogu

It was built by Sephardic Jews who took refuge in the Ottoman Empire from Spain’s Island of Majorca in the 15th century. The synagogue was given the name Mayor in memory of the island they left behind. Mayor Synagogue, which remained open for worship until 1975, was restored in 2004 and began serving as a cultural center.
