The 1847-hectare area of Ballıkayalar, located within the borders of Gebze district, was registered as a Nature Park on 06.09.1995, and is of great value for mountaineering both because of its structure and its proximity to areas with dense human settlement. We recommend Denizli Köyü, located on the old Istanbul road, as the most ideal starting point of this route. A 2 km section of the route passes through the canyon. The remaining parts are in the nature of a footpath. It can be walked in all four seasons.
