The silk factory in Umurbey Mahallesi, belonging to the İpeker Family and established on a total area of 17 thousand 000 square meters, was restored by Tofaş and opened to visitors as a museum on 28 June 2002. The carriages in the museum are the vivid and influential cornerstones of the thousands-of-years-old carriage industry and culture in Anatolia, and valuable and meaningful products of Anatolian design history.
