It was commissioned by Yakup Çelebi in the 16th century. The dervish lodge and semahane are located within a large garden. Between 2002-2005, it was restored to be used as a cultural center. Karabaş-i Tekkesi serves as a place where the Mevlevi culture, identified with the culture it represents, is fully experienced. The lodge was built on a rectangular area using the same construction technique as the semahane.
