Bursa Eski Kaplıca

Various sources state that there used to be remains of a Byzantine bath at the site where Eski Kaplıca, one of Bursa’s largest thermal baths, was built (also known as Armutlu Hamamı). The building, commissioned by I. Murat as a double bath in 1394, had a cooling section added by II. Bayezıt in 1511. The walls of the building were built with stone and brick.
