Opened in 1955 by Reşat Oyal under the name "Kültürpark," the park is the city's first large planned green area. Within the park, which is spread over an area of 393.000 square meters, there are tea gardens, restaurants, bars, and resting areas around the lake that can be toured by boat. The Archaeology Museum, Municipal Conservatory, Open-Air Theater, Wedding Hall, and Lunapark are structures located within Kültürpark. Since the first festival organized in 1963, Kültürpark has hosted the International Bursa.
