According to the Bolu Livası Salnamesi, the work was commissioned by Demirtaş Paşazade Mehmet Bey. The building, which was used as a library for a period, took the name Kadı Cami because there was a kadılık next to it. The mihrab section of the rectangular-plan mosque projects outward in a five-sided form. Built of cut stone, the mosque has a flat wooden ceiling. It is understood from the remaining traces that the mosque's original form consisted of a dome-covered main space and a three-section last congregation area. Its windows are rectangular in form, with stone jambs and iron grilles. The mosque has a monumental portal in the form of an iwan, with a pointed arch and mihrab niches on both sides. The wooden leaves of the main entrance door with a depressed arch constitute one of the fine examples of Ottoman kündekari workmanship. Its muqarnas mihrab and minbar are of stone. At its northwest corner there is a 16-sided minaret. It underwent repair after the 1999 earthquake and its minaret was renewed.
