It is the tomb of Ertuğrul Gazi, the father of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman Principality, and a Seljuk frontier lord, located in the district of Söğüt. The exact construction date of the structure, built in the late 13th century, is not known. It was first commissioned by Osman Gazi as an open grave, and later turned into a tomb by Mehmed I Çelebi.
