Taşhan, Trabzon Valisi İskender Paşa tarafından, 1531-1533 yılları arasında yaptırılmıştır. Muhtelif zamanda yapılan onarımlarla günümüze gelmiştir. Duvarlar düzgün yontu taştan yapılmıştır. Revak kemerleri ve tonoz kubbe tuğladır. Önceleri alaturka kiremit kaplı çatısı 1980 yılındaki onarımda beton mozaik olarak değiştirilmiştir.
