According to İbni Bibi; while Sultan Alâeddin Keykubat was going from Kayseri to Antalya, he was impressed by the beauty of the surroundings of Beyşehir Lake and ordered a palace to be built here. It was built in 1236 under the supervision of the Sultan's master of the hunt and at the same time the Vizier Sadeddin Köpek, who also continued to serve as chief architect, and in line with the sketch drawn by the Sultan.
