In the competition opened in 1926, the project of Architect Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu, who built the Ethnography Museum on Namazgâh Tepesi under Atatürk’s instructions, won first place and construction of the building began. Thus, the silhouette of the Hill, located in the very heart of Ankara, extending to the present day, was shaped.
