Vali Ahmed Muammer Bey tarafından 1914 yılında Mekteb-i Sanayi İmalathanesi olarak yapılan bina, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı tarafından 29.04.2009 tarihinde Sivas Arkeoloji Müzesi olarak ziyarete açılmıştır. Orta Anadolu'nun en büyük arkeoloji müzesi olan müzede, bölgede 9 milyon yıl önce yaşamış çeşitli memeli hayvanlara ait fosil kalıntıları, Kalkolitik Çağ'a (MÖ 5500–3000), Eski Tunç Çağı'na (MÖ 3000-2000) ve Hititler'e ait birçok buluntunun yanı sıra Roma, Bizans, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı dönemlerine ait eserler de sergilenmektedir.
