In order not to forget the genocide carried out by the Serbs against Bosnian Muslims in Bosnia between 1992-1995 and to remind future generations of it, the 'Bosna Şehitler Anıtı' was built in Sakarya in 1997 with the contributions of the Bosna Hersek Kültür ve Dayanışma Derneği and the Adapazarı Municipality of the period. The name of the street right in front of it was also changed to Bosna Caddesi.
