Ruzbe Hanı is within the borders of Selçuklu district and is on the Konya Ankara highway; it is currently used as a touristic facility. On the side facades of the structure, which was built on a rectangular planned footprint extending in the north-west south-east direction, apart from the main facade, there are four buttresses with polygonal and semi-circular plans, placed symmetrically and rising up to the facade level, and on its rear facade there are also two square-planned buttresses; at the corners where the side and rear facades meet, there is a polygonal prismatic corner tower at each corner. In the middle of the south-east facade of the han, its portal, opening onto the facade in the form of a pointed-arch recess, was designed as a rectangular prismatic mass projecting outward and rising above the facade level; the portal arch, resting on a cylindrical colonette on each side, is enclosed from the sides and above within a vertical rectangular frame by a profiled border and moldings left plain without ornamentation.
Although there is an inscription panel of white marble on the flat pediment where the arch conch is located, its surface has not been inscribed. The covered/shelter section entered through the depressed-arch doorway opening of the portal is divided longitudinally into five aisles by square-planned piers connected to each other and to the walls with pointed arches and covered with pointed barrel vaults; the central aisle is higher. The square-planned area at the center of this space is covered with a brick-built dome; the dome is concealed within a two-storey octagonal drum rising at roof level and is covered with an octagonal pyramidal cone.
During the excavation and restoration works carried out in the 1970s, some foundation remains belonging to the courtyard walls were encountered on the south-east facade of the han. Smooth cut stones were used in its construction; there are graffiti stonemasons’ marks in various places on the piers, arches and walls in the covered section. The han has no inscription; it is accepted that its patron was Emir Esedüddin Ruzbe, the Camedâr of Seljuk Sultan II. Gıyasettin Keyhüsrev and the Atabey of II. İzzeddin Keykâvus, and that it was built between 1246-1249.
