Seka Park is located in an area right on the seafront in İzmit city center, on the site of the former Seka Paper Factory, one of Turkey’s largest industrial transformation projects. It is one of the largest urban parks in the world.
On the total 580-decare Seka site, many facilities have been created such as a marina pier, regular pier, paper museum, city museum, seating areas, kiosk by the seaside, beach, recreation areas, stairs descending to the sea, light towers, fish restaurants, water play areas, water light shows, slipway areas descending to the sea, piers, sea observation tower, running, jogging, walking tracks, quay lighting, recreation parks, congress halls, seating areas in the wooded area, underground parking area, performance and visual arts workshops, exhibition halls, indoor sports halls, outdoor sports fields, venues for festivals, pond, water play centers for children; on the other hand, there is a sports complex consisting of 2 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, 1 football field, 1 mini golf area, 3 mini basketball courts, skate track, fitness area, children’s playgrounds, carousel, bicycle path, grass amphitheater, kite hill, sandy beach, parking lot, 6 artificial hills, rose garden, multi-purpose grass areas, walking paths, wooden seating groups, cafes and kiosks, a 2-kilometer-long walking path and bicycle path, and a parking area for 2 thousand vehicles.
