İzmit İlçesi Kozluk Mahallesi İstasyon Caddesi üzerinde bulunan Eski Gar Alanı 21 dönüm olup planı Alman Otto Ritter tarafından çizilmiş, 1873-1910 tarihleri arasında alan içindeki yapılar inşa edilmiştir. Tarihi Tren İstasyonu Atatürk ve birçok önemli devlet adamının karşılama törenlerine tanıklık etmiştir. Gar ve ambar binaları Kocaeli Valiliği tarafından 2006 yılında restore ettirilmiştir. Bugün bir bölümü Kocaeli Kültür ve Tabiat Varlıklarını Koruma Bölge Kurulu, bir bölümü ise müze olarak kullanılmaktadır.
