Anafartalar Caddesi etrafında yoğunlaşan iş merkezinde bulunan cami yerinin doldurulan iç liman olması nedeniyle Evliya Çelebi, minareyi güçle oturttuklarından söz eder. Evliya Çelebi’ye Göre 1667 yılında yapılan cami, kare bir mekan üzerine büyük bir kubbeyle etrafında dört kubbeden oluşmaktadır. Son derece güzel olan mihrabın Selçuk’taki İsa Bey Cami'sinden getirtildiği söylenmekte olup, taş işçiliği görülmeğe değer özelliktedir. Mihrabın son cemaat yerinin avluya bakan yüzünde vitraylardan oluşmuş panolar yer almaktadır. Giriş kapısı üzerinde bir kitabenin yer aldığı Kestane Pazarı Camii'nin son cemaat yerinde üç kubbe bulunur.
