Atatürk House and Museum, used as the house where Atatürk stayed during his visit to Şebinkarahisar on 12 September 1924, is a simple two-storey wooden building located right in the center of the district. Although its construction date is not known for certain, it is estimated to have been built at the end of the 19th century or at the very beginning of the 20th century. As a result of various works carried out inside the house in 1932, the house was arranged in a manner faithful to its original state of those times. On 11 October 1982, on the 58th anniversary of Atatürk’s arrival in Şebinkarahisar, it was opened to visitors as the “Atatürk House and Museum.”

The section where the building is located and its garden are situated on a somewhat elevated platform above the road. Access to the first floor is provided from the east through a wide wooden door from ground level. From this floor, which is not actively used, the second floor is reached by a wooden spiral staircase. However, the main monumental access to the second floor is provided separately from the north. There is a main entrance section with a projecting front gable, supported by wooden columns, and a staircase with 10 stone steps, from where the second floor is entered directly through a double-leaf wooden door. This is the floor used as the actual museum, and immediately above it is the half-floor attic, not visible from the front facade. This attic is also reached from the second floor by a spiral wooden staircase. At Atatürk House and Museum, some items used by Atatürk during his stay and some local ethnographic works are exhibited.
