Aziz Philippus Köprüsü
In the eastern part of the Ancient City of Hierapolis, immediately after the Saint Phılıppus Gate, there is a large bridge. Of this large structure, made up of large rectangular travertine blocks (its width reaching 12 metres), only the southern back part has survived; the structure is located on the continuation of the road coming from the city centre paved with stone. After crossing the bridge, one reaches the Saint Phılıppus Martyriıon located on the dominant hill.

In the eastern part of the Ancient City of Hierapolis, immediately after Aziz Phılıppus Gate, there is a large bridge. Of this large structure, formed of large rectangular travertine blocks (its width reaching 12 metres), only the southern side has survived; the structure is located on the continuation of the road coming from the city centre paved with stone. After crossing the bridge, one reaches Aziz Phılıppus Martyriıonu, located on the dominant hill. On the edge of the northern side of the bridge there is another octagonal-planned structure (perhaps a baptistery), and immediately beside this structure there are steps rising upward. The steps end at the area where Aziz Phılıppus was buried, located on the high hill. This area was one of the most important pilgrimage sites of Asia Minor in the pre-Byzantine period. One of the aims of the Italian archaeological team is to carry out work to restore the bridge, and in this way functionality will be given to the ceremonial road starting from the city and reaching the Martyrıon.
