Cami, Harran Kapısı’nın karşısındadır. İki kitabesi vardır. İç kapısı kitabesinde Mustafa oğlu Hacı Abdurrahman Efendi’nin yapıyı tamir ettirdiği yazılıdır. Tamirat 1720 (hicri 1133) ’de tamamlanmıştır. Kapı girişinin yan tarafında bulunan kitabede; “Hay ve Baki olan Allah'a hamd olsun bu tamamlandı. Yarab bu ev sahibini mutlu kıl. Kendisini cennete ulaştır, cehennemden uzaklaştır” yazılıdır. Kitabeye göre yapı, 1853 (hicri 1270) yılında yapılmıştır. Mustafa Karakaş(Şanlıurfa ve İlçelerinde Kitabeler)’a göre bu kitabe cami kitabesi olmayıp bir otel kitabesidir. Yıldız Meydanındaki hamam ve civarı yıktırıldığı zaman söz konusu otel de yıkılmış ve kitabesi bu camiye yerleştirilmiştir.
