In the inner inscription of the east gate of Kutbeddin Camii, it is written: “Hundreds of thousands of bravo to the master of this, he worked very hard for it to be made faithfully. May he stand proudly every night and day, may Hızır Hoca come to his aid moment by moment in this long waiting.” This inscription was written in 1831 (hicri 1247). According to Mahmut Karakaş (Şanlıurfa ve İlçelerinde Kitabeler/Şanlıurfa İl Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü Yayınları), during the repair carried out in the 1980s, this inscription was taken from another place and put here. In the inscription of the east gate of the mosque, it is written that it was repaired after being in ruins for a long time. There is no name of the person who repaired it in the inscription. However, Caliph Hz. Ömer is mentioned and the expressions “bearing the same name” are included for the person who had it repaired. In contrast, it is estimated that Ömer Paşa commissioned the repair. The year 1778 (hicri 1192) is given as the date in the inscription. Ömer Paşa and his wife Ümmü Gülsüm Hanım had Rızaiye Medresesi built in 1779. This madrasa was operating within Kutbeddin Camii. This means that before the construction of this madrasa, Mirimiran Ömer Paşa, who was the son of Rızvan Ahmet Paşa, had Kutbeddin Camii repaired.
