Uzun yıllar herhangi bir restorasyon çalışması yapılmayan camii 2011 yılında Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı'nın Samsun KTVKBK kararıyla restorasyon projesi onaylanmış ve Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü'nün denetiminde 2012 yılında restorasyonu tamamlanarak ibadete açılmıştır.
