Bugün kayıtlara “Hacıkadı Evi” olarak geçen evin yapım tarihi 1875-1880 yılları arası olup günümüzden 130 yıl öncesine dayanıyor. Muğla’nın ilk belediye başkanı olan Hacıkadı Süleyman Efendi ve eşi Pembe Hatun bu evi oğulları Ömer Efendi için yaptırmıştır. Muğla için önemli olan tarihi saatli kule ve eski adı Memleket Hastanesi olan devlet hastanesi de aynı aile tarafından yaptırılmıştır. 2004 yılında Muğla Valiliği tarafından basit onarım yapılarak 2005 yılında hizmet vermeye başlamıştır.
