İzmit Merkezine yaklaşık 3 kilometre mesafede eski İstanbul yolu üzerinde bulunan tümülüsler yöreye de adını vermiştir. Kral mezarları oldukları sanılan tümülüsler, Kabaoğlu Üçtepeler Köyü’nde bulunmaktadır. Tümülüslerden üçü köyün içinde, diğer dört tanesi köyün dışındadır. Tümülüslerin ikisinin yeri tespit edilerek açılmıştır. Aytepe Tümülüsü denilen ilk mezarın geç Helenistik Erken Roma Çağı'na ait bir tümülüs olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. İkinci tümülüs köyün girişinde açılmıştır. Yine Roma Dönemi'ne ait olan büyük tümülüste yapılan arkeolojik kazılar sonucunda kendi döneminde soygunlar geçirdiği anlaşılmış ve mezardan hiçbir buluntu günümüze ulaşmamıştır. Ziyarete kapalıdır.
