The building is located on Karabey Sokak. The church, which was commissioned by Metropolitan Ionnis in 1886 during the reign of Sultan Abdülhamit, was converted into a mosque and opened for worship in 1925 after its ownership was transferred following the departure of the Greek residents from Talas through population exchange. Originally a church, the building was constructed on a cruciform plan scheme. The building was converted into a mosque by adding a mihrab and minbar on the south side. The structure, known as Panaya Kilisesi, was given the name Yaman Dede Cami after it was converted into a mosque. There are shops arranged in the form of vaults under the terrace section of the mosque. Today, the shops serve cultural purposes.
