It was commissioned by Aleaddin Eratna, the founder of the Eratna Beyliği, in the name of his wife Suli Paşa Hatun. In the middle of the courtyard of the madrasa there is a kümbet (tomb). In this kümbet are the graves of Suli Paşa Hatun and Aleaddin Eratna, as well as their son Giyaseddin Mehmed and his son Aleaddin Ali.

In Melikgazi district of Kayseri, this structure stands on Mount Köşk and was first built as a khanqah before later being known and used as a madrasa. Lost inscriptions indicate that Eretna had it built in 1339 in memory of Suli. It also became a burial place for Eretna, Suli, their son Muhammad, and their grandson Ali.
