Cumhuriyet Meydanı'nda bulunan saat kulesi, 1906 yılında II. Abdülhamit zamanında yaptırılmıştır. Saat kulesinin yanındaki dikdörtgen mekan ise muvakkithane (saat odası) olarak inşa edilmiştir. Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın Kayseri’ye geldiğinde halka hitab etmek için kullandığı bu bina, bir dönem Anadolu ve Rumeli Müdafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti’nin Kayseri şubesi olarak da hizmet vermiştir.
