1969 yılında Arkeolojik eserlerin Gültepe Mahallesindeki yeni yapılan binaya taşınmasından sonra, Hunat Hatun Medresesinin, restorasyon çalışmaları tamamlanıp 06 Mart 1983 tarihinde Etnografya Müzesi olarak ziyarete açılmıştır. Güpgüpoğlu Konağının doğusunda yer alan ve binaya sonradan ilave edilen Selamlık Bölümüne, Etnoğrafik eserler taşınmış, teşhir ve tanzim işlemleri tamamlandıktan sonra 18 Mayıs 1998 tarihinde Etnografya Müzesi ziyarete açılmıştır.
