Mimar Sinan tarafından Kayseri'de inşa edilen iki camiden biridir. Caminin bir Kayserili olan Mimar Sinan tarafından inşa edilmesi yapıya farklı bir anlam katmaktadır. Klasik dönem Osmanlı mimarisinin Kayseri’deki özgün eserlerinden biridir. 16. yüzyıl mimari karakterini taşıyan tek kubbeli, tek minareli, son cemaat mahalli çift revaklı bir camidir. Kubbesinin kurşunla kaplı olmasından dolayı halk arasında 'Kurşunlu Cami” olarak bilinir.Kayıtlarda "Hacı Ahmed Paşa Camii" şeklinde geçen Kurşunlu Cami’nin onun tarafından yaptırıldığı, giriş kapısı üzerindeki iki satırlık dört mısra halinde yazılmış kitabeden anlaşılmaktadır.
