It is one of the two mosques built by Mimar Sinan in Kayseri. The fact that the mosque was built by Mimar Sinan, who was from Kayseri, gives the structure a different significance. It is one of the original works of classical period Ottoman architecture in Kayseri. It is a mosque with a single dome, a single minaret, and a double-portico last congregation area, bearing the architectural character of the 16th century. Because its dome is covered with lead, it is popularly known as 'Kurşunlu Cami'. It is understood from the inscription written in two lines and four verses above the entrance gate that Kurşunlu Cami, which appears in the records as "Hacı Ahmed Paşa Camii," was commissioned by him.
