Ülkemiz, kıta özelliği gösteren en küçük kara parçalarından birisidir. Buğday, kiraz, badem, incir, kayısı, mercimek, lale gibi pek çok ekonomik ürünün ana vatanıdır, gen merkezidir. Anadolu tüm Avrupa kıtasından daha fazla biyolojik çeşitliliğe sahiptir. Biyolojik çeşitlilik ve tüm doğal kaynaklar gelecek kuşaklara bırakılacak gerçek mirastır. Anadolu, yaşayan bir müzedir. Bu nedenle Anadolu’nun biyolojik çeşitliliği son derece önemlidir. Eskişehir ve çevresinin biyolojik çeşitliliğinin tanıtımı için bir araya getirilen koleksiyonlar, Zooloji Müzesi'nde halkın hizmetine sunulmakta ve doğa bilincinin gelişmesine büyük katkı sağlanmaktadır. Dönem dönem yaklaşık 1200 örneğin sergilendiği müzede böcekler, kabuklu canlılar, balıklar, sürüngenler, kuşlara ait örnekler ile bir çok balık ve memeliye ait iskeletler büyük ilgi görmektedir. Müzeyi her yaş grubundan ziyaretçiler gezmekte, gelen ziyaretçilere, sergilenen hayvanlar hakkında bilgi verilmektedir.
