Ulubat Gölü
It is a shallow, turbid, eutrophic freshwater lake located to the south of the Marmara Sea. Ulubat Gölü, which has gained Important Bird Area status, is an important breeding area for the pygmy cormorant, squacco heron and spoonbill. In winter, large numbers of waterbirds are found on the lake, among which the pygmy cormorant, Dalmatian pelican, ferruginous duck, tufted duck and coot can also be observed.
