Antalya Müzesi, 1922 yılında öğretmen Süleyman Fikri Erten tarafından 1. Dünya savaşından sonra bölgeye gelen işgal güçlerinin yağmasından kurtarılan eserlerin korunması amacıyla kuruldu. İlk olarak Kaleiçi'nde bulunan Alaaddin Cami'de, daha donra Yivli Cami'de yer alan Müze 1972 yılında bugünkü binasına taşındı. Antalya Müzesi bugün 30.000 metre kareyi kaplayan bir alanda 14 sergi salonu ile heykel ve değişik eserlerin sergilendiği açık hava galerileri ve bahçeden oluşmaktadır.
