Tekirdağlı Hüseyin Pehlivan, 1908 yılında Kırcaali'nin Alkaya köyünde doğmuştur.14 Yaşında güreşe başlayan Hüseyin Pehlivan, ailesi ile birlikte 1927'de Türkiye'ye göç ederek Tekirdağ'a yerleşmiştir. Doğduğu köyün adını soyadı olarak kullanmıştır. 1935 yılında İstanbul Halkevi`nin düzenlediği güreşlerde tüm rakiplerini yenmiştir. Aynı yıllarda Fransa`da Fransızların rakip tanımadıkları 4 güreşçilerini 30 bin Fransız karşısında 15`er dakikada yenerek ününü dünyaya duyurmuştur.1935 ile 1942 yılları arasında 8 yıl Kırkpınar başpehlivanı olmuştur.1982 yılında vefat etmiştir.
