01.01.1861 yılında Ereğli koyunun güney ucunda burun üzerine kurulan fener denizden 52 metre yükseklikte, 26 metre kule yüksekliği ile görev yapmaktadır. Metal kule üzerinde yükselen fenerin ışığı 16 mil uzaklıktan görülme gücüne sahiptir. Devvar fener sistemi, elektrik - akülü olup ampul cinsi 50 W'tır. Marmara Ereğlisi içinden çıkan dar toprak yolla kısa sürede ulaşılan fener ve gardiyan evi etrafında tel örgü çevresinde boş alan üzerinden dolaşarak burunun her iki yanına gidebilirsiniz.

Deniz tarafından dolaşanlar Perinthos antik kentinden kalma antik bir mağara ile karşılaşırlar. Fenerin arka tarafından dolaşanlar balıkçı barınağını ve Marmara Ereğlisi'ni yüksekten görebilmektedir.
