Devrinin büyük âlim, evliyası ve hafızıdır. Nakşibendî halifesidir. Nakşibendî tarikatının Halıdiye koluna mensuptur. Kendisi Kerküklü Şeyh Abdurrahman Efendi’nin halifesidir. Türbesi Harrankapı Kabristanı’ndadır. 1958 yılında vefat etmiştir. 9-10 yaşlarında Kur’an-ı Kerim’i ezberlemiş ve Hasan Padişah Camii’nde mukabele okumuştur.
