The mosque is in Tütüncü Pazarı. The structure has four inscriptions. According to the inscription above the outer door, it is stated that it was commissioned during the caliphate of Caliph Hz. Ömer (r.a) (634–644). According to the repair inscription in the last congregation area; the structure was repaired in 1301 (Hijri 701) by Ahmed Hacı Durmuş Siraceddin oğlu Ustad Muhammed Ağa. In the inscription on a stone lying on the ground in the mosque courtyard, it is stated that the mosque was repaired by Ali Beğin oğlu Hacı Firuz Beğ in 1772 (Hijri 1186). According to the inscription on the right window of the last congregation area courtyard of Ömeriye Camii; it underwent restoration in 1911 (Hijri 1330) during the reign of the Ottoman sultans Sultan Reşad (1909-1918). In the inscription on the east side of the inner door of Ömeriye Camii, the Hijri date 1330 is again read. The inscription was written by Urfalı calligrapher Behçet Arabi.
