Located within the borders of Yapraklı Village, ‘Cıngırt Kalesi is 5 kilometers from Fatsa. The literature studies conducted show that stepped tunnels, in the form of tunnels carved into single or multiple rocks and able to reach water safely, were characteristic of this type of castle settlement between 301-63 B.C. It is a 1st degree archaeological site. At Cıngırt Kalesi, a rescue excavation was carried out between 27 July -26 August 2012 under the presidency of the museum directorate, under the consultancy of Gazi University faculty member Assistant Professor Dr. Ayşe Erol, by a specialist team consisting of 8 people.
