Although the exact construction date of the monastery is not known, we can say that the building was constructed in the second quarter of the 19th century. Although no inscription documenting the construction date has been found on the building, the earliest date encountered in the carved and painted inscriptions containing names and dates on the walls of the church’s inner narthex is 1855. It can be thought that the monastery, which is known to have undergone a restoration between 1870-77, was built much earlier than 1855.
