Kızılırmak Nehri üzerinde Kayseri’nin 25 kilometre kuzeybatısında Yemliha Köyü yakınlarındadır. 27 Aralık 2003 tarihinde su tutmaya başlanmıştır. Yamula Barajı 65 kilometre x 10 kilometre boyutlarında büyük bir göl görünümündedir. Baraj gölünde, her yıl yelkenli, kürek, yüzme, off-shore ve kano yarışları düzenlenmektedir.
