It is located on the Kızılırmak River, 25 kilometers northwest of Kayseri, near Yemliha Village. Water retention began on 27 Aralık 2003. Yamula Dam has the appearance of a large lake measuring 65 kilometers x 10 kilometers. Sailing, rowing, swimming, off-shore and canoe races are organized on the dam lake every year.
