Istanbul Modern, Turkey’s first museum of modern and contemporary art, serves to share our country’s artistic accumulation on a global scale and pass it on to the future, bringing together productions from different geographies in Istanbul.
Istanbul Modern, which opened its doors in 2004 in the No. 4 Antrepo building constructed on the Bosphorus shore, was built in the same location as the old structure. The museum building, which hosts exhibitions and programs, contains exhibition halls, multi-purpose spaces, offices, areas for education and different cultural events, and spaces for other activities.
