Şirketin kuruluşundan beri gün ışığına çıkarılmayı bekleyen eserlerle, Türk deniz taşımacılığının geçmişten günümüze taşıdığı misyonu, geniş kitlelere duyurmak, tanıtmak, sevdirmek amacıyla 06.11.1995 tarihinde açılmıştır. Müze, İşletme Genel Müdürlüğü ile aynı binada bulunmaktadır. Bina 1912–1914 yıllarında yapılmıştır. Sergilenmekte olan eserler, İşletmenin kuruluşundan günümüze aktarılan, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün gemi hatıra defterine yazdığı el yazmaları, resimler, (Diyarbakırlı Tahsin, İbrahim Çallı, Fikret Otyam vs.), maketler, gemi objeleri (pusula, telgraf, fener vs) şeklindedir.
