Müze teşhir salonlarında Erzurum ve çevre illerden çeşitli şekillerde kazandırılan fosil, mühür, arkeolojik eser, etnoğrafik eser ve çeşitli dönemlere ait sikke olmak üzere yaklaşık 2000 adet eser sergilenmektedir. Müzede çocuk dostu müze programı çerçevesinde oyun ve aktivite alanları ile sinevizyon alanları mevcuttur.
Müze alt kat teşhir salonlarında mamut fosili, yumuşakça fosilleri, volkanik patlamaların ardından lavların soğumasıyla oluşan obsidyenler, Kalkolitik Çağdan Demir Çağına örneklerin sergilendiği Karaz kültürü, Transkafkasya kültürü, Urartu kültürü ve Hellenistik döneme ait eserler sergilenmektedir.
Müze üst kat sergi salonlarında ise Osmanlı Dönemi, Selçuklu Dönemi eserleri ile Milli Mücadele Dönemi, Ermeni komitacılar tarafından yapılan katliamlara ait buluntular, Halk oyunları ve Oltu Taşı işlemeciliği gelişimi ve tarihçesi ile ilgili eserler ve görseller yer almaktadır.
