1925'te Selimiye’nin Medrese bölümünde toplanan eserler, daha sonra Türk İslam Eserleri Müzesi kapsamında halka açılmıştır. Müze 1971'de yeniden düzenlenmiştir. Eserler kronolojik bir dizi içinde sergilenmektedir. Girişteki salonda Osmanlı Dönemi yapıtlardan sağlanan yazıtlar, el yazması Kuran'lar, Allah ve cam eşya bulunmaktadır. Yazıtlar cami, hamam, medrese ve çeşmelerden toplanmıştır.
