It was built over the Tunca River near Sarayiçi in the northwest of the city. It was commissioned in 1451 by Şahabettin Paşa, one of the important statesmen of the period of ll. Murat. It is 120 m. long. It is 5 m. wide. The stone bridge, with 11 piers and 12 arches, has the arches on both sides buried under the ground. The bridge, whose central arch collapsed in 1702, was extended by 50 m. when it was repaired by Sultan ll.Mustafa.
