Karçal Dağlari

Together with the plateaus of Beyazsu Yaylası, Gorgit Yaylası, and Klaskur Yaylası, every village in the region has a plateau. These plateaus located in the mountains between Türkiye and Georgia are among the places to see in Artvin with their location on the migration routes of migratory birds, endemic plant diversity, and suitable trekking routes. These plateaus, which are between 25 kilometers and 65 kilometers from the city center, can be reached from Artvin center by renting a vehicle. A mountain range located at the northeastern tip of Türkiye, within the borders of Artvin province. It separates the districts of Borçka and Şavşat from each other. In terms of plant geography, Karçal Dağları, located in the "Colchic" section of the Euro-Siberian Floristic Region, lie within the boundaries of the "Caucasus and Northern Anatolian Temperate Forests," one of the "200 Ecological Regions" identified by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) as global conservation priorities. International organizations such as Conservation International (CI), the World Bank, and GEF also identify the Caucasus Region as one of the world's 25 richest but endangered terrestrial "ecological regions." The region has the largest natural old-growth forest ecosystems in the geography encompassing Europe and Central Asia.
