According to legend, the boils that appeared on the body of King Midas's daughter Suna could not be treated in any way. While wandering for treatment, Suna drank from a muddy pool of water in the area where the hot spring is located and fell asleep. When she woke up, she saw that her pains had gone away and her boils had started to dry up.
Upon learning this, King Midas had a hot spring built there on his instructions. It is thought that the hot spring has existed since those years.
