1924 yılında kurulan müzei, Adana ili ve çevresinde bulunan arkeolojik eserlerin sergilendiği müzedir. 1972’de taşındığı Reşatbey'deki binada hizmet vermeye başladı. Eserler prehistorik (tarih öncesi), Hitit, Asur, Fenike, Frig, Helenistik, Roma ve Bizans devirlerine ait heykel, kitabe, lahit, stel, mimari parçalar gibi taş eserler, pişmiş topraktan yapılmış çanak, çömlek, çeşitli kaplar, silindirik ve magma mühürleri, madeni paralar ve diğer arkeolojik buluntulardır. Müzede ayrıca Selçuklu ve Osmanlı devirlerine ait İslami eserler ile, giyim kuşam, halk sanatları ve elişleri ve yörük çadırları da yer alır.
